Martin E. Tiidus

Martin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in 1981, and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1983.  He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1985. 

After his call to the Bar, Martin practised litigation at a prominent personal injury and insurance law firm in St. Catharines, Ontario.  In 2005, Martin left St. Catharines to continue his practice in Toronto at Reisler Franklin LLP.  His practice involves insurance, automobile accident benefits, tort matters, product liability, and personal injury litigation.  He also acts for insurers in Priority Dispute and Loss Transfer matters.  Martin regularly appears at all courts in Ontario and various administrative tribunals such as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Workplace Safety Insurance Appeals Tribunal. 

In the 1970s and 1980s, Martin was a competitive swimmer and a member of the Canadian record-setting 50-metre short course relay race team.  Martin makes his home in the Niagara region and enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two children, and their Black Labrador Retriever who ensures that he walks regularly.  During winters, Martin is an avid skier.  In the summertime, he can be found boating and relaxing at his cottage on Lake Simcoe.
