Jonathan J. Barr

Jonathan received a B.A. in political science from the University of Western Ontario in 2002 and went on to obtain his law degree from Queen’s University in 2005. While at Queen’s, Jonathan participated in several moot court competitions and was the recipient of the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Prize in Civil Procedure. 

Jonathan joined Reisler Franklin LLP as an articling student and returned as an associate upon his call to the Bar in 2006. 

Since joining the firm, Jonathan has developed a keen interest and significant experience in all aspects of insurance defence litigation including: motor vechicle tort and accident benefits litigation, first and third party claims, priority disputes between insurers, property damage claims, commercial host liability, and general commercial liability litigation. He also has a special interest in investigating fraudulent insurance claims and conducting Examinations Under Oath. Jonathan has appeared at all levels of court in the province, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario. 

In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys playing the guitar, hitting the slopes and spending time with his wife, Leah.
